At Metropolitan ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery, our board certified otolayngologists and facial plastic surgeons provide both in office and outpatient surgical care for a wide range of ear, nose and throat conditions. Your procedure may be performed at one of several outpatient surgical facilities based on your medical needs, your physician, and facility availability. Our surgery team will guide you through next steps, scheduling, and preparation.

What to Expect

1. Surgical Recommendation

Your physician will determine whether surgery is appropriate and review your diagnosis, treatment plan, and recovery expectations.

2. Scheduling & Location

Your procedure will be scheduled at the facility best suited for your care. Location may depend on the type of procedure, your physician, your health needs, and scheduling availability. Not all physicians or procedures are available at every location.

3. Insurance & Cost Information

We will do our best to provide available information regarding expected costs prior to surgery. Final patient responsibility is determined by your insurance plan and the surgical facility. Physician, anesthesia, and facility fees are billed separately and may vary by location.

4. Pre-Operative Preparation

You will receive detailed instructions before your procedure so you know how to prepare and what to expect.

5. Day of Surgery & Recovery

Our team works closely with the surgical facility staff to help ensure a smooth experience before, during, and after your procedure.

Pre Operative Instructions

Please review the following general instructions prior to surgery:

• Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before surgery, including water, gum, or mints
• Arrange for a responsible adult to take you home and stay with you for 24 hours
• Do not smoke for 24 hours before or after surgery
• Leave all valuables at home
• Wear glasses instead of contact lenses
• Remove makeup and nail polish
• Review medication instructions with your physician in advance
• Avoid aspirin or aspirin containing products for 10 days unless instructed otherwise
• Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
